Mia Gougisha is the Director of Technology Research & Innovation and leader of OpenInnovation at DTCC, where she advances the financial industry through thought leadership, industry collaboration, and the practical application of emerging technologies. Within DTCC’sTechnology Research and Innovation organization, she develops programs that build fluencyin artificial intelligence (AI) and next generation capabilities for employees and industrypartners, connecting research to real-world impact through experiential learning, academicpartnerships, and applied innovation initiatives.
A central focus of Mia’s role is driving progress at the ecosystem level. She leads industry-wide hackathons, open research efforts, and cross-sector forums that bring together financial institutions, technology providers, regulators, and academia to address shared, system-wide challenges. Her work emphasizes moving beyond siloed efforts toward scalable, secure, andresponsible solutions, with open collaboration as a critical enabler of adoption acrossfinancial services.
Mia brings 20 years of experience in strategic leadership and large-scale transformation across financial services, fintech, Web3, and enterprise platforms. Prior to joining DTCC, she served as a Program Director at ConsenSys supporting enterprise blockchain initiatives and strategic partnerships, and previously led core platform programs at Ticketmaster, serving more than 500 global clients. She is recognized as a connector and practitioner who translates emerging ideas into tangible outcomes, helping organizations and communities turn open efforts into industry-wide impact.
